Meet Janet
Janet Asante Sullivan is a Ghanaian-born artist residing in Virginia, whose work explores the beauty in the everyday. Janet paints what she feels and sees as ordinary and beautiful. She is inspired by her surroundings, history, people, places and timeless, earthy things. As a painter, she uses oil, acrylic, gouache, pastels and collage to create pieces that convey a sense of ease, joy, awareness and centeredness in a frazzled world. She invites collectors to connect with the ordinary aspects of life, slow down and savor.
Janet orients her life and art around her personal mission/values statement: “I am a commitment to substance for the sake of ease and awareness. I embody ease, adventure, connection, courage and creativity.”
Janet began her fine art journey in her late 40s. She is a student at Washington Studio School in Washington, DC. In addition to her art practice, Janet is an executive leadership coach for leaders in law, media, technology and nonprofit organizations.
