Janet Asante Sullivan is a Ghanaian-born artist residing in Virginia, whose work explores the beauty in the everyday. Janet is inspired by her surroundings, history, people, places and timeless, earthy things. In her artworks, she explores themes of womanhood, solitude, silence and time.
Working mostly with oils, she paints the interior lives of people. Her paintings aim to capture what it feels like to live right now, the nuance, the contradictions, the history we are making in real time.
Janet orients her life and art around her personal core values: ease, solitude, connection, courage, freedom and knowledge.
In addition to her art practice, Janet is an executive leadership coach for leaders in law, media, technology and nonprofit organizations.
